the Midnight Roses

The Midnight Roses are more than country and bluegrass. They are a captivating mix of old fashioned raw grit, fresh instrumentation and roots country twang wrapped in stunning harmonies, and presented with genuine honesty on stage. They're also Saskatchewan's next big thing according to industry professionals from across North America, who named them the 2012 title holder.

Based in the heart of Canada's farm country, the ladies of The Midnight Roses cut their teeth on the traditions that make old time country and bluegrass the music that we enjoy coming back to. With Paula McGuigan on the upright bass, Liza Holder on guitar and mandolin, Eliza Doyle on banjo, guitar, and mandolin, and Myshel Pajuaar on lead vocals, they come together with powerful vocals, stunning harmonies, and tight instrumentation. This group combines all original songwriting which is reminiscent of roots-country and folk-bluegrass. While you're enthralled by the full-bodied slapping of the upright bass, unique stylings of clawhammer banjo, and the solid rhythm of the guitar, you'll start to notice that that you haven't just been hearing their music, you've been part of their story. They are surrounded by the deep roots of folk and bluegrass, and have chosen to honour these traditions through their music while following their own creative direction.
